Overview

Snipish is a screenshot capture, annotation, and sharing tool. This policy covers both the Snipish web application and the Snipish Chrome extension.

What Data We Collect

  • Account information: When you sign in with Google or GitHub, we receive your name, email address, and profile image from the OAuth provider. This is used to identify your account.
  • Screenshots you capture: When you use the extension or web app to capture a screenshot, the image is uploaded to your configured storage (Snipish default storage or your own cloud bucket). We store metadata about the upload (file size, dimensions, source URL) to display in your dashboard.
  • Authentication tokens: The Chrome extension stores a session token in local browser storage to keep you signed in. No passwords are stored.

What Data We Do NOT Collect

  • We do not track your browsing history or web activity.
  • We do not log which pages you visit.
  • We do not capture screenshots without your explicit action.
  • We do not collect location, financial, or health data.
  • We do not use cookies for advertising or tracking.

Chrome Extension Specifics

The Snipish Chrome extension:

  • Only activates when you click the extension icon or press the keyboard shortcut. It never runs in the background.
  • Injects a capture overlay into the active tab only when you initiate a capture. No code runs on pages otherwise.
  • Communicates only with the Snipish API ( snipish-production.up.railway.app) to upload your captures and fetch your collections. No data is sent to any other server.
  • Stores only your authentication session in chrome.storage.local. No browsing data is stored.

Data Storage & Ownership

With Snipish's Bring Your Own Bucket (BYOB) feature, you can configure your own cloud storage (Cloudflare R2, AWS S3, or Google Cloud Storage). When BYOB is configured, your screenshots are uploaded directly to your storage — Snipish only stores metadata references.

On the free tier, screenshots are stored in Snipish-managed storage (Cloudflare R2). You can delete your media at any time from the dashboard.

Third-Party Sharing

We do not sell, trade, or transfer your data to third parties. Your screenshots are shared only when you explicitly create a public share link.

Data Deletion

You can delete individual screenshots or entire collections from your dashboard at any time. To delete your account and all associated data, contact us at the email below.
